The sedra Vayelech contains the command of Moses that the Torah be read “before all Israel” once every seven years at the feast of Succot. It was specified that the Torah be kept by the side of the ark of covenant. Deuteronomy 31-26.
We can read , 31-7, the well known exhortation,”chazak ve-emattz”, be strong and of good courage, which Moses gives to his successor Joshua.
In this sedra Moses is commanded, 31-19, to write a song and teach it to the children of Israel.
