The people’s army

At Shule earlier today, we said a prayer for the Israel Defence Forces, and also for those who were injured or killed in the defence of the State of the Jewish People.

We ow a huge debt of gratitude to all those either serving currently or formerly in the IDF.   Unlike the armies of Australia and U.S which are voluntary,  Israel has a people’s army that reflects the breadth and strength of the country.

Benny Gantz, head of the IDF, gave an interview here that further extended my awe of the IDF.. and to wish the IDF and Israel a peaceful, successful, year.

  1. Thanks for a great article. Gantz is well suited to his office of chief of staff of the moral army that is the IDF.
Unlike the view put by the Arab-run United Nations, Richard Kemp, former Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, reported that (in Gaza) “the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare”.

Adele, it’s important that you remind us of Richard Kemp’s positive comments about the IDF in Gaza…and we need to keep mentioning them. The anti-Israel group clearly ignores Kemp’s views because it doesn’t suit their agenda.
