Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid killed together with women and children .. Israel didn’t do it, so move on by

Listening to Mark Colvin on PM ABC radio driving home today, I was interested to hear that an Al-Qaeda senior operative, Al-Yazid, had been killed by a US Predator drone,  along with his wife and 3 children.  The Australian noted that a grand-daughter and other men, women and children were also killed in the strike.

Other than some comment that the killing was more symbolic than of great strategic import, little more was said or written other than it was generally good news.

The remarkable thing of course was that the attendant killing of wife, 3 daughters, granddaughter, men, women and children didn’t even rate a yawn from Mark Colvin or other press.. Now if that had been Israel …..

And indeed in another place a similar number of dead has caused hysteria and mass outrage (our intrepid Stephen Smith is shocked, absolutely shocked).

Caroline Glick takes a hard look at Israel’s performance, including its suboptimal response to the threats it faces.

Yaacov Lozowick also puts the Gaza flotilla in a broad and helpful context. and Daniel Gordis replies to a Jewish critic.

and to complete the circle to Mustafa Al-Yazid, Vex News  reveals that the Turkish organisation for Human Rights, Liberties, and Humanitarian Relief (IHH), whose militant members were on the Turkish boat  where the violence erupted is intimately connected with al-Qaeda.

  1. Hi,
Here is a rundown of the Muslim Brotherhood types on the flotilla boat:

An appalling mix of jihadis. here is the first big paragraph to whet your appetite:

    Flotilla Participants
Following is information from the Arab media about some of the flotilla participants. It should be noted that many of these were from the Muslim Brotherhood across the Muslim world.
(For more on this subject, see also MEMRI Special Dispatch No. 2986, “MEMRI TV Clips on the Gaza Flotilla: Activists On Board Chant Songs of Martyrdom at Departure,” .)
In Friday sermons, Muslim Brotherhood General Guide Muhammad Badi’ expressed support for Hamas, frequently reiterating harsh statements in favor of jihad and of the armed struggle in Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan (see
The Egyptian flotilla delegation included two members of the Muslim Brotherhood bloc in the Egyptian parliament: Muhammad Al-Baltaji and Hazem Farouq.
Al-Baltaji, who is deputy secretary-general of the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc in Egypt, said at a March 2010 conference, “A nation that excels at dying will be blessed by Allah with a life of dignity and with eternal paradise.” He also said that his movement “will never recognize Israel and will never abandon the resistance,” and that “resistance is the only road map that can save Jerusalem, restore the Arab honor, and prevent Palestine from becoming a second Andalusia.[1]

There’s MUCH more there, all bloodthirsty – hope you can post the details.
